Dip Dye Update

Hey guys! So if you read my last post, you'll know that i did a diy dip dye "instructions/ tutorial"... anyway, after I posted that I realized i need to add some more instructions so if you do try it it'll work the best for you. So here we go!
1. So, instead of waiting for your hair to dry, you need to wash it, so rinse it out first until the water turns to a faded pink color (or whatever color you used) and then wash it with shampoo and conditioner. rinse your hair until the water runs clear.
2. Dry it now, to see how it looks and if you need to add anymore color to it, because you will probably need to.
3. Once your hair is dry, go through, and find spots that you need to touch up and leave that in for 20 minutes and repeat the process of rinsing it out and shampooing.
***There is a different way to dip dye your hair, you don't have to do the braids, this is just how I did it, and I absolutely love it. You can also look on youtube and find several videos of how to do it.****
Oh! and Pictures to come!

Dip Dying

Hey guys! So, i'm sure most of y'all have seen people with "dip dyed" hair. Well, i think its so cute and perfect for summer! I love how bright the colors are and its so pretty and different! As I'm typing this I'm actually in the process of dip dying my hair, so I thought why not do a tutorial!
I'm using Splat hair dye, I got it at walgreens and the kits are about $10 each.
1. The first thing I did, was braid my hair in to braids.  Let the hair tie be the spot you want your dye to stop.  Remember: you can always add more color but you can't take it out!
2. If you have darker hair or want more vibrant color, bleach the ends of your hair.  In the Splat kit it comes with directions on how to bleach your hair. It also comes with the bleach, a bottle to keep the color in and a nozzle on top so you can put the color into your hair without getting your fingers too messy.
3.After you put the bleach in your hair, wrap it in tin foil and follow the time for how long to keep it in depending on your hair color, I left mine in for 35 minutes, but my hair is already a light brownish blonde.
4. Take the tin foil out and make sure your hair is dry! If you need to, blow dry it until it is completely dry. It takes about 10 minutes using the blow dryer for it to completely dry.
5. Once your hair is dry, take the color you want (or colors) and start to apply them to your ends.  If you don't mind getting a little dirty, you can use your hands, or you can use gloves, or you can use a brush. I just used a small acrylic paint brush, you can get them anywhere. I got mine at either Michaels or Walmart.
6.Once you've covered your ends, wrap them in tin foil and leave it in for around 20 minutes.
7. Once the 20 minutes is up, take out the tin foil and blow dry until the ends are completely dry.
8.Enjoy your new hair!

Demi Lovato looks so happy and gorgeous with her bold pink tips.

Miley looks absolutely gorgeous with her ombre hair and stunning makeup

Nicki Minaj: a little out there, but when is she not! Her bold approach to this trend is very bright and colorful and screams Nicki.

The "Upcoming Star" or so I've heard, Cher Loyd rocks her ombre dip dyed hair. It looks so great with the three colors, going from a bold pink to a dark brown.

What do you think of this trend? Is it good for the summer or would you rather pass? Leave a comment below and let me know!

Its Not Always About a Fashion Statement

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I just got back home from my vacation.   I did not want to leave at all! Uhh it was so hard to leave this morning!  Anyway, so my hopes for the travel series didn't exactly work out and I feel SO bad that I couldn't post it after I told y'all I could. But don't worry I'm going to be leaving in about two weeks, so definitely look out for my travel series!
Anyway this post isn't supposed to be about my traveling. I wanted it to be a kind of inspirational post, well not exactly inspirational... never mind i don't know what to call it so its just a post. So today on my way to the airport I thought life isn't always about a fashion statement. it doesn't matter what you wear to the airport, or to the mall. Like to the airport I wore nike shorts and a polo v-neck, threw my hair up in a messy top knot, no makeup and flip flops.. I was ready to go. If you want to go all out, go for it, but my point is you can wear whatever you want anywhere. You don't always have to worry about pulling in the trends, or a pop of color. I'm not saying never put together an outfit but to me you don't always have to worry about making a fashion statement.  Just know, everyone looks beautiful in anything they are wearing it doesn't matter about the designer brands and makeup.

Travel Update: Day 1

Hey guys! So first of all for the travel series.. I will try to have the posts up by the end of my vacation!  Sorry, I've been super busy these past 2 days and haven't really had time to post and take pictures.
Anyway, today I flew down to visit my family. I'm so excited I haven't seen them in almost over a year, so it'll be great to see everyone.  I also got to see my aunt that I haven't seen in awhile and it was so much fun! More updates coming soon!

Traveling!

As some of you may know, i'm actually going on a trip this week to visit some family. So I figured why not make a little mini series about it.  Now I'm leaving tomorrow so I'm hoping all of these posts will be today or tomorrow just because I feel like if I do them while I'm there or when I get back, its not the same ya know?  But anyway, this is kind of the "opening" to this little series! My posts will be about what I pack in my suitcase, travel makeup, and my carry on bag, what I put in that.

What to wear to the Airport: Summertime

What to wear to the Airport: Summertime

What to wear to the Airport: Summertime by kenzie-hill featuring cutoff shorts

So, I am leaving for a trip soon, and I'm not sure what I should wear to the airport.  I know you shouldn't go in your pajamas and these two outfits i picked probably aren't the best dressy wise but they are cute and comfortable without being too casual.  The first outfit, I just have a floral print romper with a sweater over it in case its cold on the plane. i paired it with red vans and socks. SOCKS are super important when your at an airport. You know when you go through security and have to take your socks off?  Well all I think about is how gross that floor is, and I definitely don't want all those germs on my feet. ewwww:/ So moral of the story, wear socks. The last thing I have that works for both outfits is the tote bag, this you can use to carry a book, laptop, or any other things you need on the plane.  In the second outfit, I have a pair of jean shorts with a tank top and a sweater over top it again in case the plane is chilly. Over this I have an infinity scarf just to add a cute accessory that won't be "called" in security. Then I have a pair of gray vans and socks :) I am absolutely in love with these shoes they're so cute!  Which outfit should I wear?  I'm leaving soon and need to know! leave a comment below!

My beach bag essentials:  the first thing I have is my coverup.  I like to use a light weight romper that is easy to take off or put on.  You could also use a crochet cover-up. I think these are so cute. They're so light and summery. I also keep a pair of sunglasses, the ones above are just the ray ban original wayfarers. Another big trend is the big floppy sun hats.  The one above is from Forever21, and its fairly cheap, only $11!  The next I have is one thing you can not leave out of your beach bag; sunscreen!  This is super important to protect your skin and keep you from getting burnt. You can use any sunscreen but make sure its at least SPF 35.  I also like to keep some makeup with me in case we leave the pool or beach right away to go eat lunch or go shopping, I can just freshen up right away and be on my way to wherever we're going.  If you plan on going swimming, or tanning out on the beach, you definitely need a big beach towel so you can dry off or keep all the sand off you.  If your anything like me,  I can't just sit there with nothing to do. So, I bring my phone which is my iPod so I can listen to music while i'm tanning.  you can also bring a book, which I like to do especially if I'm getting really into it.

New Series: Being Happy is Being Healthy

For Summer this year, my goal is to eat well and just be healthy and in shape.  So what I'm going to do is every week post one eating healthy tip for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.  I'm also going to give everyone a work out to do you can do to work on abs, butt, arms, or legs.

Work-out: 20 lunges on each leg
10 push ups
25 sit ups
5 minutes of cardio (running or biking)
**This is a beginner's workout, if you think you can do more go for it, like instead of 10 pushups do 15 pushups. Do this workout every other day.

Breakfast: a sandwich of peanut butter on whole wheat toast and a glass of milk is a great way to start off your day. If you need a little more, have a banana with it!
Lunch: Try and avoid fast food for lunch, like breaded chicken fingers, or pizza.
Dinner: Whole wheat pasta is much better than white pasta.  It takes some getting used to but its so much better for you!
Snacks: Apparently, you should have at least one snack a day but try and keep it healthy like carrot sticks with a little ranch or apple slices with peanut butter!

Summer Nails!

So hopefully y'all have heard of the manicure where you paint you your ring finger a lighter shade than the rest of your fingers. Like if you paint your your fingers hot pink you would do your ring finger a darker or lighter shade of that.

Well, what I did, was instead of a similar color, I did a contrasting color. I am absolutely in love with this look, its so summery with the bright colors, and even better the pink is the new Revlon Gel Nail Polish in "Passionate Pink", so it lasts longer than regular nail polish. The tealish turquoise color is Sephora by OPI in the color "Read My Palm".

What are your thoughts on this manicure? Leave a comment below!

Neon Statements!

Neon Statements!

A big trend this summer is neon.  Neon anything, but not too much. With this, it adds an instant pop of color to any outfit and it doesn't look like your drowning in a rainbow. This outfit I put together is a great example of using neon to make your outfit stand out.

Summer time: Pool and friends

An end of school party:  I had one of those today. they're so much fun, they're a great way to just let your hair down and relax.   Who cares what you do its summer! It doesn't matter YOYO: your only young once.  Make it count.
Capture the flag:  OMG this is my absolute favorite thing to do with friends.  We play til midnight some nights playing.  With like 10 people, its the perfect amount of people and if your really competitive it can get pretty intense:) which makes it that much more interesting.

These are just a couple of ideas for you to kick off your summer... well not so much the last one, thats more of just to do in general but whatevs:)

When it comes to makeup for the pool, I don't wear a lot.  For my face, I obviously wear sunscreen and if I really want to a cream blush. The cream blush I am using today is the Revlon cream blush in Berry Flirtatious.  For my eyes, I wear Covergirl's waterproof lash blast volume (I couldn't find a picture of it on Polyvore so I just used the 24 hour one), and any waterproof liner. the one in the picture is BHCosmetics waterproof pencil eyeliner.

May Favorites!

This is Mac's creme cup. Its a really pretty pinky nude, and it looks good on all skin tones. You can also kind of play with the look you want by the gloss you put on top, giving it a lot of different looks.

Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof:  This is my go to mascara for the month of May.  I love it because it's waterproof, and believe it or not I was swimming during May and needed a little makeup. So, this was perfect, it DOES NOT come off with water, you need face wash or makeup remover to get this off, which i think is perfect for the summer months.

Covergirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner: Its in the shade black onyx.  Its perfect for putting on my waterline and lining my upper lash line as well and it stays on longer than any liner I've had.

Mac MSF in Semi precious Rose Quartz: I've been using this as a blush and highlight.  The colors are absolutely gorgeous. The picture below has swatches of both colors, the one on top is what i use for a highlight, and the one on the bottom I use for blush.

And last but not least! My shimmering body butter from the Body Shop. I am absolutely in love with this. It makes my skin soooo soft.  I got this a really long time ago, but I didn't realize it was shimmery so I never really started using it until last month. The shimmer in it isn't too much.  Like you don't look like you dumped glitter on top of you... if that makes sense:).  this has been my go to lotion for this month.

Alright! That was all my favorites for the month of May!  Hope you guys like this post! There are more to come!

Love you!
