New year's Resolutions

Hey guys! So, I realized that 2013 is in three days.... How crazy is that.  But anyways here's a list of my resolutions. Don't make fun and I'm some of you beauty and makeup lovers can relate to some of these

Beauty/makeup resolutions
1.BUY MORE MAKEUP!- Okay i know a lot of you are thinking she doesn't need anymore makeup, and you right I don't need it... but makeup is my passion, I'm absolutely obsessed with doing my makeup and buying new products and trying new things

Fitness:
Stick to an ab workout and see results!
Do at least 5 pull-ups a day: we have a pull-up bar that hangs in the doorway so I can do them everyday.
Stretch for 30 minutes everyday-  I cheer competitively and need to desperately work on this.

Blog:
Post at least once a week if not more
Maybe start a youtube channel? What do you guys think?

A resolution I've done every year but can't do... keep my room clean!
I struggle with that, it looks like my closet threw up in my bedroom..

Ulta Haul

Hey Beauties! So I went to Ulta today and picked up a few things, so I thought I would do a haul for you all! Hope you enjoy, leave a comment down below if you have tried any of these products before!

The first two things I got, were two blushes by NYX.  In the first picture, the top one is a cream blush in  the shade glow. My camera doesn't really pick up the color but its a corally pink.  I'd say its more of a pink then coral.  The second one is a powder blush in the shade mocha. At first glance, its similar to "glow" but its more brown and soft. These are my first NYX blushes, so if you've tried one leave a comment below on your thoughts!

The next two products are more NYX products, but since there isn't an Ulta close to me I had to stock up.  I got two jumbo eyeshadow pencils, one in "strawberry milk" and the other in  "milk". "Strawberry milk" would be good for those days when your in a rush and need to quickly get out the door, you can just swipe it over your lid and you have a very basic and natural eye look, or of course you can add a crease color to intensify the look, but ithink its a very pretty basic look to do with just the eye pencil and then your eyeliner and mascara with it.  I got the color "milk" because it makes a very good eyeshadow base and can help to intensify any color.

I also needed a new bronzer, so I picked one up as well.  This is the "Too Faced Snow Bunny Perfecting Bronzing Powder" and its really nice because it comes with a bronzer shade, a blush, and a highlight, but you can also mix the colors together and get a gorgeous bronzer.

I haven't tried the "Too Faced" shadow insurance so if you have, leave a comment below!

I am probably the most excited about this product, it's the Stila lip glaze set.  It comes with 8 different lip glazes and it only costs $25.  I don't think they are the full size but there's enough product in each one for more than one use.

Okay, these are the last two NYX products, like I said I needed to stock up.  Anyway, the top product is a lipliner in the shade "Pale Pink".  The bottom one is a lipgloss in the color "Beige".  I've heard so many great things about these lipglosses so I figured I had to try it.

The last thing is the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.  I needed a new powder because the one I'm currently using is the Elf Translucent Matifying Powder and I'm running out.  But I've heard lots of people on Youtube talk about it so I went ahead and picked up so I could try it!

Leave a comment below on what else you'd like to see on this blog! I'm starting back up for the New Year and am going to keep it going this time!

Its that time of year and I can't believe its here!  Back to School!!! Here are a couple outfits that I put together that hopefully fit all types of style or are just some inspiration for your back to school outfits.
Comfy and casual:  A basic white vneck with a  bright scarf some dark skinny jeans and nude sandals are so effortless and cute but still comfy. Also the nude bag adds a bit of sparkle with the gold stud detailing.

Pretty and Pink: this shirt and skirt are definitely something I would love to wear to school.  With the shirt tucked in loosely to the skirt  its such a cute outfit!! Especially with the bag and the shoes the golds really pop and give the outfit a little bit of sparkle.

Forever in Floral:  This is such an effortless outfit the jean jacket makes it casual  but the print adds a bit of pop to the outfit . with some nude gladiators the outfit is so cute!

Sorry guys! And My manicure method

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I jut got back from the beach an I've been super busy!! Anyway, I just found out there's a blogger app, so I can do on the go posts:) which is what I'm doing right now:). But from the picture you can see I did my naillss! Oh boy did they need it to. Below is my super easy manicure method:)
1. Remove any nail polish left on your nails.
2. Taking a 4 sided nail file shape and buff your nails according to the directions for the file.
3.apply a hand cream to your nails, any lotion will work.
4. Apply a clear base coat to your nails.
5. Once that dries apply your color. I used Spoiled's cotton mouth, a really pretty bubble gum light pink color but any color or brand will work.
6. Apply any nail art designs you like, I just did white French tips to mine.
7. Apply a clear top coat for extra protection of your nails so they don't chip easily:)

My Makeup Story

Hey guys! So I've seen this tag on youtube "My Makeup Story"... or something like that but anyway I figured I would do mine!
Anyway, I'll start from the beginning,  I started wearing makeup the beginning of 7th grade.  I remember the day my mom took me to Aveda salon so I could have a "professional" do my makeup and show me how its done.  I started out with a small eyeshadow palette that my mom bought for me from Aveda, a revlon cream eyeshadow quad, a lip stain and gloss, and a revlon bronzer and blush duo that my friend bought me for my birthday.  Before all this though I would sneak on makeup when I went to my friend's house, or sneak some of my mom's makeup on. I got grounded a couple times for wearing makeup after she told me I wasn't allowed to. I got really into makeup when I started watching videos on youtube. I have probably watched all of juicystar07's, meganheartsmakeup, and macbarbie07's videos.  thats when I really started collecting makeup.  the first high end makeup product I bought was the Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette. When I went into the store I had no idea how expensive anything was and instead of eyeshadow, which I thought I had, I grabbed cream eyeliners thinking I could buy 4 or 5, when the lady came over to help me, she asked if I wanted cream eyeliners... I had no idea what she was talking about so I was like oh yea sure, but thankfully she helped me find what I wanted and bought my first makeup palette! Ahhh you have no clue how excited I was, I remember it to like it was yesterday (yea i know that sounds cheesy but its true!)

A Little Inspiration

Hey guys so lately I've had a lot of stuff to do, and I swear I have adhd because I can't stay focused on one thing. I keep thinking about all the stuff I need to do and how I need to practice this and get this done, but I  have so much to do I was getting really overwhelmed with everything.  So, a word of advice from my madre was to sit down and make a list of everything I wanted to get done. Now I ended up making 3 lists, they were very short because I was focusing on the main things I need to get done.  So for example, on my cheerleading list I put practice jumps, work on splits, and work on my backhandspring. Then under each of those I put how I would practice and when I wanted to have it done.  So splits I said in 3 weeks, back hand spring I said for about a week because I'm extremely close to having it perfect, and my jumps... well you can always work on jumps.  But thats just an idea of how you can practice and set goals for yourself.  After I made all my lists and set my goals written in paper, it really inspired me to try to accomplish as many of these goals as I can in the time I have set.  In fact, I'm extremely close to my left leg split and back handspring and in about three weeks I should have my splits, if I work really hard and stick to my chart of practicing every day.  For me writing things down on a piece of paper, and having it out to remind me, gets me really inspired to try and fulfill all of these goals I have!

Will you try this? What goals are you trying to reach? Leave a comment below!

Treat Dry Cracked Lips and a DIY

Hey guys! So, today I have a beauty tip for you all and a DIY lip scrub!  So I'm sure you all have had this problem when your lipstick looks flaky and blotchy because your lips are chapped and you've tried chapstick and lip butters and not even that fixes the problem!  Well you need to take care of your lips, kind of like you would your face.  So the steps for your face: wash it and exfoliate and sometimes even a little extra pampering like facials and massages.  To have healthy lips you need to exfoliate them as well! Exfoliating removes dead skin and is a bit more of a deep clean then just washing (I'm not really sure why or how you would wash your lips but that's beside the point). Anyway using a lip scrub that you buy or you make is the best way to exfoliate your lips.  So enough of the intro, here are steps to make your own DIY lip scrub and how to get the healthiest? i dunno what you wanna call your lips.. healthy gorgeus beautiful... whatever floats your boat. OK here we go:

What you need: sugar, olive oil, lip balm, and a small bowl to mix it in (optional a small jar like a baby food jar).
Take about 1/4 teaspoon of lip balm, a few drops of olive oil and a packet of sugar, or about a teaspoon of sugar and mix it all together. Now you can either use it straight out of the bowl or put it in the small jar for use later, I prefer the jar so you can use it again and not have to make more. If you use the jar you may need to mix more than what is said. Anyway, once you've mixed it together, take the scrub on your lips and rub your lips for about 60 seconds then wash and immediately apply lip balm. I like using a lip butter just because they are so creamy and moisturizing to the lips. Try the korres lip butter, I've heard great reviews on them! Do this about twice a week and you should notice a big difference in your lips!

Will you guys be trying this DIY lip scrub?

Dip Dye Update

Hey guys! So if you read my last post, you'll know that i did a diy dip dye "instructions/ tutorial"... anyway, after I posted that I realized i need to add some more instructions so if you do try it it'll work the best for you. So here we go!
1. So, instead of waiting for your hair to dry, you need to wash it, so rinse it out first until the water turns to a faded pink color (or whatever color you used) and then wash it with shampoo and conditioner. rinse your hair until the water runs clear.
2. Dry it now, to see how it looks and if you need to add anymore color to it, because you will probably need to.
3. Once your hair is dry, go through, and find spots that you need to touch up and leave that in for 20 minutes and repeat the process of rinsing it out and shampooing.
***There is a different way to dip dye your hair, you don't have to do the braids, this is just how I did it, and I absolutely love it. You can also look on youtube and find several videos of how to do it.****
Oh! and Pictures to come!

Dip Dying

Hey guys! So, i'm sure most of y'all have seen people with "dip dyed" hair. Well, i think its so cute and perfect for summer! I love how bright the colors are and its so pretty and different! As I'm typing this I'm actually in the process of dip dying my hair, so I thought why not do a tutorial!
I'm using Splat hair dye, I got it at walgreens and the kits are about $10 each.
1. The first thing I did, was braid my hair in to braids.  Let the hair tie be the spot you want your dye to stop.  Remember: you can always add more color but you can't take it out!
2. If you have darker hair or want more vibrant color, bleach the ends of your hair.  In the Splat kit it comes with directions on how to bleach your hair. It also comes with the bleach, a bottle to keep the color in and a nozzle on top so you can put the color into your hair without getting your fingers too messy.
3.After you put the bleach in your hair, wrap it in tin foil and follow the time for how long to keep it in depending on your hair color, I left mine in for 35 minutes, but my hair is already a light brownish blonde.
4. Take the tin foil out and make sure your hair is dry! If you need to, blow dry it until it is completely dry. It takes about 10 minutes using the blow dryer for it to completely dry.
5. Once your hair is dry, take the color you want (or colors) and start to apply them to your ends.  If you don't mind getting a little dirty, you can use your hands, or you can use gloves, or you can use a brush. I just used a small acrylic paint brush, you can get them anywhere. I got mine at either Michaels or Walmart.
6.Once you've covered your ends, wrap them in tin foil and leave it in for around 20 minutes.
7. Once the 20 minutes is up, take out the tin foil and blow dry until the ends are completely dry.
8.Enjoy your new hair!

Demi Lovato looks so happy and gorgeous with her bold pink tips.

Miley looks absolutely gorgeous with her ombre hair and stunning makeup

Nicki Minaj: a little out there, but when is she not! Her bold approach to this trend is very bright and colorful and screams Nicki.

The "Upcoming Star" or so I've heard, Cher Loyd rocks her ombre dip dyed hair. It looks so great with the three colors, going from a bold pink to a dark brown.

What do you think of this trend? Is it good for the summer or would you rather pass? Leave a comment below and let me know!

Its Not Always About a Fashion Statement

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I just got back home from my vacation.   I did not want to leave at all! Uhh it was so hard to leave this morning!  Anyway, so my hopes for the travel series didn't exactly work out and I feel SO bad that I couldn't post it after I told y'all I could. But don't worry I'm going to be leaving in about two weeks, so definitely look out for my travel series!
Anyway this post isn't supposed to be about my traveling. I wanted it to be a kind of inspirational post, well not exactly inspirational... never mind i don't know what to call it so its just a post. So today on my way to the airport I thought life isn't always about a fashion statement. it doesn't matter what you wear to the airport, or to the mall. Like to the airport I wore nike shorts and a polo v-neck, threw my hair up in a messy top knot, no makeup and flip flops.. I was ready to go. If you want to go all out, go for it, but my point is you can wear whatever you want anywhere. You don't always have to worry about pulling in the trends, or a pop of color. I'm not saying never put together an outfit but to me you don't always have to worry about making a fashion statement.  Just know, everyone looks beautiful in anything they are wearing it doesn't matter about the designer brands and makeup.

Traveling!

As some of you may know, i'm actually going on a trip this week to visit some family. So I figured why not make a little mini series about it.  Now I'm leaving tomorrow so I'm hoping all of these posts will be today or tomorrow just because I feel like if I do them while I'm there or when I get back, its not the same ya know?  But anyway, this is kind of the "opening" to this little series! My posts will be about what I pack in my suitcase, travel makeup, and my carry on bag, what I put in that.

What to wear to the Airport: Summertime

What to wear to the Airport: Summertime

What to wear to the Airport: Summertime by kenzie-hill featuring cutoff shorts

So, I am leaving for a trip soon, and I'm not sure what I should wear to the airport.  I know you shouldn't go in your pajamas and these two outfits i picked probably aren't the best dressy wise but they are cute and comfortable without being too casual.  The first outfit, I just have a floral print romper with a sweater over it in case its cold on the plane. i paired it with red vans and socks. SOCKS are super important when your at an airport. You know when you go through security and have to take your socks off?  Well all I think about is how gross that floor is, and I definitely don't want all those germs on my feet. ewwww:/ So moral of the story, wear socks. The last thing I have that works for both outfits is the tote bag, this you can use to carry a book, laptop, or any other things you need on the plane.  In the second outfit, I have a pair of jean shorts with a tank top and a sweater over top it again in case the plane is chilly. Over this I have an infinity scarf just to add a cute accessory that won't be "called" in security. Then I have a pair of gray vans and socks :) I am absolutely in love with these shoes they're so cute!  Which outfit should I wear?  I'm leaving soon and need to know! leave a comment below!

My beach bag essentials:  the first thing I have is my coverup.  I like to use a light weight romper that is easy to take off or put on.  You could also use a crochet cover-up. I think these are so cute. They're so light and summery. I also keep a pair of sunglasses, the ones above are just the ray ban original wayfarers. Another big trend is the big floppy sun hats.  The one above is from Forever21, and its fairly cheap, only $11!  The next I have is one thing you can not leave out of your beach bag; sunscreen!  This is super important to protect your skin and keep you from getting burnt. You can use any sunscreen but make sure its at least SPF 35.  I also like to keep some makeup with me in case we leave the pool or beach right away to go eat lunch or go shopping, I can just freshen up right away and be on my way to wherever we're going.  If you plan on going swimming, or tanning out on the beach, you definitely need a big beach towel so you can dry off or keep all the sand off you.  If your anything like me,  I can't just sit there with nothing to do. So, I bring my phone which is my iPod so I can listen to music while i'm tanning.  you can also bring a book, which I like to do especially if I'm getting really into it.

New Series: Being Happy is Being Healthy

For Summer this year, my goal is to eat well and just be healthy and in shape.  So what I'm going to do is every week post one eating healthy tip for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.  I'm also going to give everyone a work out to do you can do to work on abs, butt, arms, or legs.

Work-out: 20 lunges on each leg
10 push ups
25 sit ups
5 minutes of cardio (running or biking)
**This is a beginner's workout, if you think you can do more go for it, like instead of 10 pushups do 15 pushups. Do this workout every other day.

Breakfast: a sandwich of peanut butter on whole wheat toast and a glass of milk is a great way to start off your day. If you need a little more, have a banana with it!
Lunch: Try and avoid fast food for lunch, like breaded chicken fingers, or pizza.
Dinner: Whole wheat pasta is much better than white pasta.  It takes some getting used to but its so much better for you!
Snacks: Apparently, you should have at least one snack a day but try and keep it healthy like carrot sticks with a little ranch or apple slices with peanut butter!

what do you guys think of my first Getting Fit! Series?  Leave a comment below!

Summer Nails!

So hopefully y'all have heard of the manicure where you paint you your ring finger a lighter shade than the rest of your fingers. Like if you paint your your fingers hot pink you would do your ring finger a darker or lighter shade of that.

Well, what I did, was instead of a similar color, I did a contrasting color. I am absolutely in love with this look, its so summery with the bright colors, and even better the pink is the new Revlon Gel Nail Polish in "Passionate Pink", so it lasts longer than regular nail polish. The tealish turquoise color is Sephora by OPI in the color "Read My Palm".

What are your thoughts on this manicure? Leave a comment below!

Neon Statements!

Neon Statements!

A big trend this summer is neon.  Neon anything, but not too much. With this, it adds an instant pop of color to any outfit and it doesn't look like your drowning in a rainbow. This outfit I put together is a great example of using neon to make your outfit stand out.

Summer time: Pool and friends

An end of school party:  I had one of those today. they're so much fun, they're a great way to just let your hair down and relax.   Who cares what you do its summer! It doesn't matter YOYO: your only young once.  Make it count.
Capture the flag:  OMG this is my absolute favorite thing to do with friends.  We play til midnight some nights playing.  With like 10 people, its the perfect amount of people and if your really competitive it can get pretty intense:) which makes it that much more interesting.

These are just a couple of ideas for you to kick off your summer... well not so much the last one, thats more of just to do in general but whatevs:)
